Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September 21 1983) is an American actress who is best known for her roles in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. After her parents' divorce, she left Worthington in Ohio and moved at Los Angeles. The year 2001 was a difficult one for her, but despite difficulties with money, she was able to secure her first big role in the online video show Rachel's Room as the principal character. The film for television Murder in Greenwich, in which she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. In 2004, Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost where she was a main character for the initial two seasons winning an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. Grace decided to concentrate on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. In 2007, she starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. In 2008, she played the same role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost and the final episode. She was in 2013 for the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith as the muse and fan of the stars. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family she is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder cousin of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens she appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also co-starred with her older sister in Donnie Darko which is a popular cult movie. In 2002, she starred as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics in both of her roles as the main character actress in Secretary (2002) as well as in Sherrybaby (2006), the erotic drama about romance as well as Sherrybaby (2006). The actress was also nominated by her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. In 2006, she had numerous films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However it was her performance as Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). The role she played in Crazy Heart as a mother who is a single parent received her a nomination for the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. In 2021, Gyllenhaal made her writing and directing debut with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
