Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was only five her family moved to Oxfordshire and went to the Dragon School. Emma decided to become an actor at age six. In the past, she attended the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing along with dancing, as well as acting. At the age of 10 Emma took part in numerous Stagecoach Productions as well as school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After the eight auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and the other candidates Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint they were cast for the role of the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It was also the most well-received film of the year. Opening days and weekends of revenues were record-breaking. Film critics praised the film as well as its performances by the three leading young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British paper, called Emma's acting "amazing". In the following days, Emma was shortlisted for five prizes for her work in the film and was awarded The Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in the Feature Film.
